Currently General Manager - Business Events at the Barbican. Responsible for the commercial sales, marketing and PR, event management and technical production for conferences, banqueting, exhibitions and corporate hospitality. Mr. Hyde joined the Barbican in 2001 as Business Development Manager from a background in hotels.
During 2009/2010 he was president of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) UK and Ireland Chapter
With 15 years experience in the hospitality and events within multi-purpose venues, he has an unique set of skills and knowledge.  From his roles within the hotel industry to his past and current position at the Barbican, he has driven sales and developed strategic business plans that have regularly seen his teams exceed targets and provided leadership for the delivery of new and unusual initiatives to a constantly changing industry.
Working  with organizations such as MPI has placed him at the centre of the global events industry, crafting policies and ideas that have gone on to ensure the events industry remains professional and respected, full of creativity and credibility.
